Reverse Engineering
When a part is broken, discontinued, or undocumented, we measure it, model it, and manufacture it. The result is a CAD model you own — not just a one-off replacement.
01When to use this service
- A critical component failed and the supplier no longer exists
- You need spares for equipment with no documentation
- An existing part needs improvement, not just replication
- You want a physical object converted into editable CAD
02Why MLP
What you get beyond the part.
Measurement with intent
We identify which dimensions are functional — bores, mating faces, thread specs — and hold those, instead of blindly copying every surface.
Improve while replicating
If the original failed, copying it exactly reproduces the failure. We flag weak points and can redesign them.
Direct path to parts
The recreated model goes straight into prototyping or small-batch production in-house.
03Process
How the work runs.
STEP 01
Assessment
Review the part, its function, failure mode, and critical interfaces.
STEP 02
Measurement
Dimensional capture of functional features and surfaces.
STEP 03
CAD reconstruction
Parametric model with design intent, not a scan mesh.
STEP 04
Verification
Test fit against mating parts; prototype where practical.
STEP 05
Manufacture
Produce replacements, or hand off the files — they're yours.

05Questions
Asked before, answered plainly.
Do I need to ship you the part?
Usually yes — accurate measurement needs the physical object. For simple geometry, calibrated photos and key measurements can be enough.
Is reverse engineering legal?
Recreating parts for repair and maintenance of equipment you own is generally fine. We don't replicate parts protected by active patents for commercial resale — if there's a question, we'll raise it.
